As on the previous day, it is due to be hot on Sunday morning for the first race of the Academy Trophy which starts with Maxime Potty and Artem Petrov on the front row followed by Pedro Piquet and Edoardo Tolfo. We will also need to watch Ralf Aron and Adeline Prudent on the third row. The lights go out, Piquet takes the lead, but was overtaken by Potty soon as the first lap ended, Aron completed the trio, Petrov dropped to 6th, Prudent retrieved fourth position. Gautier Becq retired, Nathan Hédouin was in 17th. Prudent fought for 3rd place against Aron, but was then squashed, in an incident including Valdemar Pedersen Risom and dropped to 9th. Petrov’s start was under investigation.
Piquet remained focused and took the lead on lap 6, Potty remained in his wake. Prudent attacked and moved up the field, up to 6th from 8th. Aron was in third ahead of Andrei Vajda and Presley Martono. Hédouin moved back into the top 10. Potty was biding his time, preparing his attack, and returned in the first three laps. Prudent was now 4th! Potty controlled Piquet and was 2.7 tenths ahead. Last lap: Piquet attacked Potty who lost a part of his kart, and was not at all happy to finish second in these circumstances. Aron stayed in third position on the line, Vajda fourth, Prudent fifth, Petrov sixth.
